A U of L professor helped create a new app that gives clinicians vaccination advice.

Gary S. Marshall, M.D., a professor in the department of pediatrics, is the author of “The Vaccine Handbook: A Practical Guide for Clinicians.” The app provides figures, tables, immunization schedules, recommendations and bookmarking to users. With the introduction of his book as a free app, Marshall anticipates many students and clinicians will find it useful.

“The app is a great resource for medical, dental and nursing students,” Marshall said. “The app is user-friendly enough so as to be of interest to anyone who wants to understand the field, public policy and advocacy issues, and who wants to protect themselves, their children and their parents from vaccine-preventable diseases.”

The app is available for free now via iPhone and Android.
