The U of L women’s golf team shot eight-over-par in the first of three rounds of the NCAA Bryan Regional and finished the day tied for 10th.  Olivia Cason had the best day of play for the five-member team. The freshman shot one-under-par, placing her tied for 14th in the 95-player tournament. Cason is four shots back of the lead and was the only Cardinal to finish under-par on Thursday.

Senior Laura Restrepo and sophomore Molly Skapik both shot two-over-par. Restrepo clubbed a one-under-par on the back nine. Senior Katie Mitchell shot a five-over-par and freshman Ellen Kehoe finished the day six-over-par.

Of the 18-team field, the top six teams will advance from the Bryan Regional to the NCAA Championship in Eugene, Oregon. Louisville is six shots back of Miami, who finished the first round in sixth. The Cardinals are 11 shots behind Georgia, the leader through the first 18 holes. Play will resume tomorrow.
