Junior Aaron Vance will be U of L’s next SGA president, according to unofficial SGA election results released today.

Junior Meredith Cooksey won the Academic Vice President slot, beating out Vishnu Tirumala and Jeremy Ball. Amanda Nitzken and Lauren Greenwell ran uncontested for Executive Vice President and Services Vice President, respectively.

Vance beat out Nathan Groneck for the presidential spot, receiving 75 percent of the vote. Cooksey won with slightly below 40 percent of the vote.

The College of Education elected Meghan Mattingly for Education President and Mallory Seidel for vice president. Both ran uncontested.

The College of Arts and Sciences elected Jessica Morgan for A&S President. Morgan ran uncontested and no one ran for A&S Vice President. Nine A&S senators were elected from a pool of 13. They are:

-Kyle Bilyeu

-Nicholas Yates

-Easton Depp

-Taylor Schafer

-Joseph Thompson

-Landon Lauder

-Michael Knopf

-Brittany Chouhan

Around five percent of U of L’s total enrollment voted in the presidential election. Seven percent of the enrollment voted in the election as a whole.

SGA Director of Communications Jacob Abrahamson said the results should become official Thursday.
