Whether you’ve been dating for a few weeks or over a year, here are some Valentine’s Day date night ideas for you and that special someone.
Paint and sip
Involving a little creativity and a glass (or two or five..) of wine, a paint and sip date night is great for your valentine. Classes are usually around two hours and are lead by an instructor who guides you along. No worries if you feel you don’t have a wild imagination. The whole class paints the same picture and the studio provides you with all utensils and wine. For Valentine’s Day, many studios are offering couples paintings, where half of the picture is painted on your canvas and the other on your partner’s. Be sure to purchase your ticket and reserve a spot as soon as possible.
Make a gift
On a budget? Nothing is as unique as making your favorite person a gift from the heart. Nothing will bring a smile to their face like seeing something you put your own time and effort into. Buy some crafts at Walmart and get to work creating a humorous, cute card. Want to go a step further? Make a video montage or picture collage of some of your favorite memories together. This will be sure to melt your valentine’s heart. If you buy some flowers, that will be icing on the cake.
Netflix and romance
Skip all the hassle and formalities by having a cozy night in. Bond by cooking dinner together (or you can cook for him/her). After eating to your heart’s content, gather your comfiest blankets and pillows. Pick your favorite show to watch together or a romance if you’re feeling it. Sit back, cuddle and relax on the holiday meant to be spent with your favorite person.
Date night reservation
Flowers and nice dinner reservations are always classy, no matter how long or short you have been dating. The Old Spagetti Factory offers romance. A traditional spot in Louisville, the two-story restaurant has tall ceilings and embellished decorations giving the feeling of romance as soon as you walk in. Another favorite in the ‘ville is Jack Fry’s in the Highlands. Built in 1933, this restaurant was a saloon before renovated into an upscale restaurant. Reviews say the food is consistently delicious, especially if you’re looking for a steak or pork chop.
Run the race
Prove you can go the distance this Valentine’s Day (literally) by registering to run the “Race of Love.” Don’t worry if you’re a newbie at running — choices include 1K, 5K, 10K and a half marathon for all the pros out there. Races start on Feb. 13 and go through until Valentine’s Day.
