Louisville missed only one shot in the first ten minutes of play and coasted to a 111-63 victory over Grand Canyon on Saturday at the KFC YUM! Center. The Cardinals (6-1) finished the first half shooting 21 of 33 from the field, but opened the game hitting 12 of its first 13 shots.

Fifth-year graduate transfer Damion Lee scored 15 of his game high 24 points in the first half. Lee shot seven of 13 from the field and added six rebounds.

Fellow fifth-year graduate transfer Trey Lewis scored 16 points on five of six shooting from the field.

Along with Lewis, backcourt teammate Quentin Snider added 12 points, eight assists and four rebounds.

In his first career start, Ray Spalding scored eight points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Donovan Mitchell came off the bench in the first half and added a quick spark, scoring 11 of his 13 points in the first period of play. The freshman pulled down seven rebounds.

11 different Cardinals scored at least four or more points.

“We shot the ball well and we played well, but they’re (Grand Canyon) is a much better basketball team than that,” coach Rick Pitino said.
