Final-Kentucky defeats Louisville 72-54. Epps leads Kentucky with 24 points.

4:54 fourth quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 64-45. Largest lead of the game. Walz calls a timeout.

End of the third quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 54-41. Epps is shooting 10 of 11 from the field for 22 points, Cardinals have no answer for her. Louisville is shooting one of nine from behind the arc.

3:12 third quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 47-37. Matthew Mitchell calls a timeout after Louisville trims the deficit to ten points. Jackson and Hines-Allen in double figures with 16 and ten points, respectively.

4:37 third quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 47-33. Jackson, Louisville’s smallest player at 5-foot-6 is leading the team with six rebounds.

5:36 third quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 45-30. Louisville struggling to string together defensive stops.

Halftime: Kentucky leads Louisville 39-22. Kentucky shooting 16 of 30 from the field, on the other end of the spectrum, Louisville is shooting seven of 25 from the field (28%). Epps has 15 points for the Wildcats. Jackson is leading Cardinal scorers with nine points.

2:58 second quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 33-20. Louisville has strung together a few bad turnovers and fallen behind, facing largest deficit of the game.

6:04 second quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 27-18. Walz calls a timeout after Taylor Murray hits an open three-pointer. Kentucky has hit five of seven three-pointers. Louisville is shooting five of 18 (27.8%) from the field.

End of the first quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 17-11. Wildcats hit their first four shots, end the quarter shooting 7 of 15 from the field. Louisville is shooting four of 15 from the field. The Cardinals missed a couple layups and left Kentucky open for a few three-point attempts, Wildcats three of five from behind the arc. Epps has nine points.

4:47 first quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 12-6. Makayla Epps has seven points, hit all three of her field goal attempts, including a long three-pointer late in the shot clock.

6:25 first quarter- Kentucky leads Louisville 9-6. Kentucky hit their first four shots to start the game.

Louisville (3-4) heads to Lexington to face off against in-state rival Kentucky on Thursday night at 7 p.m.

The eighth-ranked Wildcats are the second ranked opponent the Cardinals have played in a week.

Last Thursday, Louisville pulled off an 85-78 upset road victory over nineteenth-ranked Michigan State.

Kentucky (7-0) trailed in last season’s matchup by 13-points before taking control of the game late in the second half to defeat Louisville 77-68.

While five freshmen a part of the nation’s top-rated recruiting class have played plenty of minutes for coach Jeff Walz, sophomores Mariya Moore and Myisha Hines-Allen and junior Briahanna Jackson.

Moore is leading the Cardinals in scoring averaging 15.4 points per game and is second on the team with 25 assists.

Hines-Allen is leading the team in rebounding with 7.1 boards per game while averaging 13.1 points.

Transfer Briahanna Jackson is second in scoring behind Moore with 13.4 points per game and also has a team high 20 steals.
