After losing his four top scorers from the 2014-15 team, Rick Pitino added Cleveland State transfer Trey Lewis for the 2015-16 season.

The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 16.3 points and 4.4 rebounds this season for Cleveland State.

Lewis played in the KFC YUM! Center against Louisville on November 26, 2014 and scored 24 points in the 45-33 Cardinal victory.

He has the ability to play point guard, but will more than likely see the bulk of his minutes at the two guard spot due to the late season emergence of Quentin Snider.

Lewis can light up the scoring column, he finished with 20 points or more in 11 games this past season.

Pitino adamantly stated he was searching for shooters and Lewis can provide just that.  He knocked down 96 three-pointers and shot 42.3 percent from behind the arc in 2014-15.

Snider, Lewis and incoming freshman Donovan Mitchell will make up Louisville’s backcourt, but the Cardinals could add another player in the coming weeks with an available scholarship.
