Leslie Chambers Strohm has been approved by the Board of Trustees as the vice president for strategy and general counsel.

Strohm, who will begin her job on Feb. 2, 2015, comes from UNC- Chapel Hill and has represented universities for 30 years in a public and private capacity. As the university continues its 2020 growth plan, she will advise the president on strategic issues and coordinate all legal activities.

“Leslie’s expertise and experience will be invaluable as we continue our upward trajectory during difficult financial times,” said U of L President James Ramsey. “We look forward to Leslie sharing her legal, business and problem-solving expertise with our leadership team.”

She has a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and and undergraduate degree from DePauw University.
