Brief: Security increases on Health Sciences campus after armed robberies

U of L and Louisville Metro police have increased security on the Health Sciences Campus after three armed robberies of U of L students and employees in just two weeks.

A U of L employee was robbed at gunpoint yesterday on the Health Sciences Campus. The day before, a U of L student was robbed nearby. A U of L student was also robbed July 10.

It is unknown if the crimes are related.

U of L campus police announced today they have stepped up security in the area. The Cardinal’s attempts to contact ULPD were unsuccessful.

The suspect in yesterday’s robbery was described as a black male in his early 20s, 5-foot-7 inches tall, with a medium to slender build. If you know anything, contact ULPD at (502) 852-6111.
