1. Carol Everett: Former abortion provider
Carol Everett was involved in the operation of four abortion clinics from 1977 to 1983, overseeing 35,000 pregnancy terminations. As an abortion provider and consumer, she has an overwhelming amount of experience in the area of abortion. Come to the Red Barn and hear Carol’s story and what led her to leave her career and ultimately the abortion industry. Free pizza will be provided. 2. ‘Blues for an Alabama sky’
Set in Great Depression-era Harlem, this Pearl Cleage play explores the soft underbelly of friendship, ambition and impossible dreams. Associate theater professor Nefertiti Burton directs an ensemble cast in this AATP production, at the Thrust Theatre in early February. -Baylee Pulliam

3. Mark winne, author
Going rogue against processed foods just got a little bit easier thanks to the help of author Mark Winne. An activist for community focused food and agriculture, Mark’s latest book, “Food Rebels, Guerrilla Gardeners, and Smart-Cookin’ Mamas: Fighting Back in an Age of Industrial Agriculture” tries to inspire us by instilling the reader with self-empowerment regarding our sources of food. Mark Winne will be speaking about his new book at the university Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. in Shumaker Research Building Room 139. – James El-Mallakh

4. Green Economics Lecture Series with Juliet Schor

Juliet Schor, Professor of Sociology at Boston College, will speak via Skype. She is the author of the national best-seller “The Overworked American: The Unexpected Decline of Leisure” and “The Overspent American: Why We Want What We Don’t Need.” Her most recent book is “Plenitude: The New Economics of True Wealth.” The talk is part of the Green Economics Lecture Series and will be in Davidson 301. – Josephine Lee

5. An Afternoon with Leigh Anne Tuohy

Portrayed by actress Sandra Bullock in “The Blind Side”, Leigh Anne Tuohy’s inspring story has changed lives throughout the country and will no doubt touch every audience member that attends this event at the Brown Theatre in the Kentucky center. 6. Men’s basketball vs. uconn
The Louisville Cardinals men’s basketball team will take on Connecticut Monday, February 6, in the KFC Yum! Center at 7 p.m. The Cardinals are currently 5-4 in Big East play and 17-5 overall. The UConn Huskies are ranked No. 24 in the nation. Students can purchase up to two tickets at $10 each with a valid student ID. – Nathan Gardner
