Senior linebacker Dexter Heyman’s fourth quarter pick with under two minutes to play in the game was just what the University of Louisville Cardinals needed to hold on to their 16-14 victory over the University of Rutgers Scarlet Knights on the night of Friday, Oct. 21 at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. The victory improves Louisville to 3-4 on the season and 1-1 in the Big East. Senior Cards kicker Chris Philpott tied the school record for longest field goal with his successful 52-yard attempt that put Louisville up 10-7. Freshman quarterback Teddy Bridgewater found freshman receiver Michaelee Harris on an 18-yard touchdown pass to make the score 16-7. The Cards were led in rushing by sophomore running back Jeremy Wright, who ran for 108 yards gained on 11 carries. Fellow sophomore running back Dominique Brown found the end zone in the first quarter on a one-yard touchdown run.
