1. Manhattan Short Film Festival

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts brings to Louisville the Manhattan Short Film Festival. This global event features the most compelling short films, which the audience views and votes to select the best in the country. – Anna Meany

2. St. James Art Fair
Sept. 30-Oct 2 | free
This year marks the 55th anniversary of Louisville’s original St. Jame’s Court Art Show. Boasting the victorian homes of Old Louisville as its backdrop, the ever-expanding street fair hosts roughly 750 artists from all over North America. From glass blowers to metal workers, painters to sculptors, these artists are sure to get your creative juices flowing. -Baylee Pulliam

3. Cherokee Park Restoration
Oct. 1 | 9AM-12PM
As part of a restoration project to beautify and maintain Louisville’s Olmsted parks, Cherokee Park will be having a volunteer event to restore the park. Volunteers need to meet near the dog run on Cochran Hill Rd. The Trail Store will be giving discount tokens for 25 percent off any one non-sale item in their store for every six hours of service. The Cherokee Park restoration will be held Oct.1, from 9 a.m. – noon. All tools will be provided, just bring yourself and dress for the weather. – Nathan Gardner

4. Common Ground Yard Sale
Oct. 2 | 11AM-5PM
An LGBTQQIA organization on campus, commonGround, is having a yard sale in the Red Barn on Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Students and community members are asked to donate whatever unused or unwanted items they have lying around. Fifty percent of the money made from selling these donations will go to the Parents, Friends, and Families of Lesbians and Gays scholarship. – Lee Cole

5. Graduate School Information Day
Sept. 27 | 11AM-2PM, free
Graduation day on the brain? Looking at graduate school options? U of L’S Career Development Center is hosting its graduate school information day on Tuesday Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Ekstrom Library. With over 30 colleges and universities showcasing broad professional options, students will surely find their future place. 6. UofL Soccer VS Marquette
Sept. 30 | 7PM, free with student I.D.
The Louisville Cardinals 3-4-3 women’s soccer team will face the Golden Eagles of Marquette at 7 p.m. on Sept. 30 at Cardinal Park. Come out and cheer the team on as they continue Big East play. – Aaron Williams
