EA Sports has released its latest installment of collegiate basketball video games and the title has a new look.
The top sports gaming producer had previously produced a series of college basketball games titled “NCAA March Madness.”
However this year, the organization felt the name implied too much emphasis on the post season, giving an impression that EA Sports wasn’t concerned with developing a deep in-season game.
EA has taken its new game “NCAA Basketball ‘09” to a new level with some great new features such as game tempo, which allows you to recruit, coach, and play to the tempo and style of your choosing.
Also, EA recently named U of L’s 1980 and 1986 basketball teams as two of the greatest of all time, and the two teams are playable in single game modes.
Unfortunately the rosters bare little resemblance to the real championship teams. That said; it’s still pretty entertaining seeing the afros and short-shorts.
Overall, gamers will be pleasantly surprised by the detail and realism of this game. The receives four Dr. Dunkensteins out of five.
