The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers upset the No. 3 ranked Louisville Cardinals 68-54 in Nashville. The Hilltoppers outworked and outplayed the Cards throughout the game in which the Louisville could not buy a basket.

The Cards (2-1) shot an obismal 26% for the game including just 6-30 from the three point line. The Hilltoppers (3-2) finished 46 % from the field. The Cards were also out rebounded by WKU 48-36.

After being tied 28 at the half, the Hilltoppers outscored the Cards 40-26 after intermission. WKU sophomore guard A.J. Slaughter had a terrific performance and scored a career high 25 points that led all scores. Slaughter also added nine rebounds.

Terrence Williams led the Cards with 19 points and nine rebounds. The Cards will return to action next Saturday in the Marcus Maybin Classic and will play three games in three days starting with Indiana State on Saturday.
