As I begin my second year as Editor in Chief of The Louisville Cardinal I’m excited about what lies ahead. New people (this includes you), new stories to tell and new challenges await us.

However, as an editor of a student newspaper, I must seek changes in the way the newspaper represents the voices of this campus.

We try to produce a quality newspaper while holding true to the values of journalism (a testament to the nearly 70 awards we’ve won in the past four years), but sometimes we falter and miss great story ideas or potential coverage.

I encourage incoming students to get involved, voice their opinions and let us know what you think.

We, the independent student newspaper at U of L since 1926, want to hear from you.

Let us know how you feel concerning everything involved in the college life that awaits you (student services, administration issues, campus life, etc.). The Cardinal thrives off of the voices of those associated with the university and seeks involvement, without limitations, from those voices.

So get involved and voice yourself. You won’t regret it.
