For students, especially freshmen, searching for seasonbasketball and football tickets, time is running out.
University of Louisville Assistant Athletic Director for Ticketsand Operations Brad Barber said that combo packages of football andbasketball tickets would probably sell out during or before thefirst session of orientation.
“We don’t know exactly how many we’ll have, because we are stillselling them between now and the first session,” he said. “But weshould have some for at least the first session.”
Barber said students shouldn’t worry about getting season footballtickets, because there are plenty left. However, he said there are100 or less basketball tickets left.
“We don’t anticipate selling all those before the first session,”he said.
Barber added that the number of football tickets made available tostudents is always greater than basketball because of the largesize of Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium. Barber said he anticipatesthat there will be more than 700 football tickets added to theavailability before the season starts.
Students will also have the chance to purchase women’s volleyballand basketball season tickets. Although students can attend women’svolleyball matches for free, Barber said he hopes students will getseason tickets with their families.
For students looking to get involved with U of L athletics, Barberencouraged students to involve themselves in a U of L spiritclub.
“It’s a great way to get involved and go to all the events, likevolleyball, track and field, basketball, baseball, softball, etc.”
Basketball season tickets cannot be purchased by themselves. Theymust be purchased with season football tickets as well. The cost ofa package for one student is $161; for a student and a guest, it is$398. For just football, a student can purchase season tickets for$35; for a student and a guest for just football, it is $45.
